Demolding newly cast Radio Shack Robie Junior Tires

Demolding newly cast Radio Shack Robie Junior Tires

When we got our Robie Junior, cosmetically, he looked great; however, he had no rubber tires. All that was left was a couple of dried up pieces rattling around on the inside. We couldn't have our robot rolling around on his rims, so we modeled new tires based on reference photos and the dried up pieces we had.

We believe in doing things properly, so once we had a master model of the tire we were happy with, we made molds and cast replacements from polyurethane rubber to create new tires to last him another lifetime.

Here's the final part of our casting process when we de-mold, inspect, and trim off the flashing.

These tires fit the following robots: TOMY Omni Jr. 5410, TOMY Omnibot Jr. "Charmmy" and, Radio Shack Robie Junior - 1986 (Cat. No. 60-2397A)
